Terms of Service
Last updated: 12 July 2026. These terms are a good-faith draft pending review by legal counsel before public launch.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and BucketPic (“BucketPic”, “we”, “us”), the operator of the BucketPic service. By creating an event, uploading content, or otherwise using BucketPic, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. Definitions
- Host — a registered account holder who creates and manages an event.
- Guest — a person who uploads to or views an event gallery, usually without an account.
- Event — a gallery created by a Host to collect photos and videos.
- Content — photos, videos, names, and other material uploaded to the service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use BucketPic, and to create a Host account or purchase a plan you must be able to form a binding contract. If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
3. The service
BucketPic lets Hosts collect photos and videos from their Guests through a shared gallery that can be viewed on phones and displayed on a screen. Guests typically scan a QR code and upload from their browser without an account. Features, limits, and plans may change over time.
4. Host accounts
Hosts are responsible for their login credentials and for all activity under their account. Keep your password confidential and tell us promptly of any unauthorised use. You are responsible for your co-hosts' actions within your events.
5. Plans, billing & refunds
- Paid plans are billed per event, or by subscription for venue/business accounts, at the prices shown at purchase.
- Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record and may apply applicable taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel future renewals at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period.
- Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable. Nothing here limits statutory consumer rights you may have.
- On the free plan, downloaded photos include a BucketPic watermark; paid plans download without it.
- Each plan includes a defined hosting period after which the gallery is deleted (see section 9).
6. Your content & licence
You keep ownership of the Content you upload. To operate the service, you grant BucketPic a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce, and display your Content solely to provide and secure the service (for example, to show it in the event gallery, generate previews, and let the Host download it). This licence ends when the Content is deleted or the gallery expires, except for residual backup copies and anything we must retain by law. You represent that you have the rights and any necessary consents to upload and share the Content.
7. Host responsibilities & privacy roles
The Host is the organiser of their Event and acts as the controller of Guest Content; BucketPic acts as the Host's service provider (processor) for that Content. Hosts must have a lawful basis to collect and display Guest photos, must inform Guests as appropriate, must obtain any consents required (including where children may appear), and must honour deletion and other requests. Hosts are responsible for how they use and distribute downloaded Content.
8. Acceptable use & prohibited content
You agree not to upload, share, or use the service for:
- Child sexual abuse material — this is detected, removed, and reported to authorities as required by law.
- Illegal content, or content that infringes others' intellectual property or privacy.
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, harassment, hate, threats, or violent extremist material.
- Malware, spam, scraping, or attempts to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Uploading someone's image without a right or consent to do so.
9. Moderation, removal & retention
Hosts control what appears in their gallery. When approval is enabled, uploads are held for the Host to review before other Guests can see them; Hosts can hide or remove items, block contributors, and make galleries private. We also apply automated screening and edge-level CSAM detection as a backstop and may remove Content or suspend accounts or devices that violate these Terms. Event galleries are deleted automatically after the plan's hosting period; hidden or rejected Content is deleted within about 24 hours.
10. Intellectual property
The BucketPic name, logo, software, and design are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms don't grant you any right to use our branding except as needed to use the service normally.
11. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties (for payments, storage, authentication, moderation, email, and hosting). Their handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. We're not responsible for third-party services outside our control.
12. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that moderation will catch all prohibited content.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, BucketPic will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost content, profits, or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the event or subscription giving rise to the claim in the 12 months before it arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold BucketPic harmless from claims arising out of your Content, your use of the service, or your breach of these Terms or of others' rights.
15. Suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service or others. You may stop using the service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (e.g. content licence for residual copies, disclaimers, liability, indemnity) will survive.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified where appropriate, and continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
17. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the BucketPic operator is established, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.
